• Udhayveer Singh won an individual Gold medal in junior Men’s 25 m piston event in World Shooting Championship in South Korea.

• The President of India has appointed Justice Ranjan Gogoi as the next Chief Justice of India. He will be the 46th CJI of India.

• Vice President Venkaiah Naidu embarks on a three-nation visit to Siberia, Malta and Romania.

• The Global Climate Action Summit 2018 was held at San Francisco, California, US. Over 4000 businesses, cities, states and civil society delegates attended the summit and showed their commitment to achieve the goals set by the Paris Agreement.

• The National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) released the report HIV Estimations 2017. As per the report, in 2017, India had around 21.40 lakh people living with HIV with the adult prevalence of 0.22%.

• Union Cabinet has approved the MoU on the collaborative research of distributed ledger technology. The research will be jointly conducted by the EXIM Bank and one bank from each BRICS member states.

• Country’s first tribal circuit project was inaugurated connecting 13 tourism sites in Chhattisgarh. This project was sanctioned by the Ministry of Tourism for Rs 99.21 crores under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme.

• Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi launched the country’s first ‘National Scholarship Portal Mobile App’. It will ensure a smooth, accessible and hassle-free scholarship system for students from poor and weaker sections.

• Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) has developed India’s first indigenous medical kit for protection against nuclear warfare or radioactive leakage. The kit has been developed after 20 years of work by INMAS scientists.
