• After the Pulwama attack, the Governor’s administration in Jammu and Kashmir issued orders to withdraw all security personnel and government facilities provided to five separatist leaders in Kashmir.

• Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik distributed financial assistance to the landless agricultural households of the State at a farmers’ rally in Kendrapara district under the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation scheme.

• Jet Airways plans to raise Rs.3,000 crore by selling (and then leasing back) some of its aircraft and a new investor would have chip in with another Rs.3,000 crore. Jet Airways approved a provisional resolution plan.

• Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu announced income support of Rs.9,000 for small and marginal farmers owning up to five acres in addition to Rs.6,000 which the Union government sought to directly credit into their bank accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.

• NASA, The U.S. space agency, plans to send American astronauts back on the Moon by 2028, with unmanned demonstration missions in 2024 and 2026.

• Ahead of April 9 parliamentary election, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has handed over his role as Foreign Minister to Intelligence Minister Israel Katz, giving up the portfolio he had held since 2015.

• After the Pulwama terror strike, the Union government has hiked the basic customs duty on all goods imported from the neighbouring country to 200% with immediate effect.

• According to Bloomberg, India’s crude oil import from Venezuela jumped 66 per cent to 6,20,000 barrels a day. However, Venezuelan crude exports have plunged since the US imposed sanctions against the country’s oil company.

• Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has signed investment agreements worth $20 billion during his visit to Pakistan.

• The government has raised Rs 10,000 crore by the additional offering of Bharat-22 Exchange Traded Fund (ETF).

• Vidarbha became the only 3rd team in Indian Domestic Cricket history to defend their Irani cup titles at Jamtha Stadium in Nagpur by defeating rest of India. Vidarbha becomes the 3rd team after Bombay and Karnataka to defend the Ranji Trophy and Irani Cup.

• According to a biennial report released by the government, the Centre has identified 106 Coastal and Marine sites as Conservation Reserves under its National Wildlife Action plan for the period of 2017-2031.

• The Himachal Pradesh Assembly passed the Official Language (Amendment) Bill 2019 to make Sanskrit the second official language in the state. The bill was introduced in the Assembly by Irrigation and Public Health Minister Mahender Singh.

• The United Nations has appointed Indian official Chandramouli Ramanathan as the Controller, Assistant Secretary-General (ASG) in the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC).

• Indiamoneyinsurance.com, a subsidiary of the Indiamoney.com Group has acquired a broking license from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) of India’s to enter Insurance Business.

• The new districts – Narayanpet and Mulugu started functioning from February 17, 2019. Now, the number of districts in the Telangana rose to 33. Narayanpet has been carved out of Mahbubnagar district and Mulugu from Jayashankar Bhupalpally.

• The Raigarh Municipal Corporation of Chhattisgarh has won the Swachhata Excellence awards 2019. The Municipal Corporations of Ambikapur of Chhattisgarh won second and the Municipal Corporations of Kumbakonam of Tamil Nadu bagged the third prizes respectively.

• The Patna Metro Rail Project will be built at an estimate of over ₹13,300 crore and will be completed in five years. PM Modi inaugurated the Patna City Gas Distribution project.

• Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha, inaugurated and laid foundation stones for numerous development projects amounting to Rs 2,114 crore in Kalahandi district on 16th February 2019.

• Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd. (LTI) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Germany’s Nielsen+Partner (N+P), an independent Temenos WealthSuite specialist, for €28 million on a cash-free, debt-free basis, which includes upfront consideration and a performance-based earn-out.
