• The sixth edition India- UK Joint Company Level Military Exercise called Ajeya Warrior began in Chaubatia, Uttarakhand. The Exercise aims to develop interoperability and sharing expertise with friendly foreign nations. Armies would familiarise themselves with each other’s armaments, tools, tactics, methods, etc.

• The Wildlife Week Valedictory happened at the National Zoological Park, New Delhi, on 8 October. The theme for the wildlife week valedictory event is a conservation collective. Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Minister of State Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change, led the meeting.

• World Bank Predicts that Indian GDP will grow 8.3% within the financial year 2022 in its Shifting Gears: Digitization and Services-led Development report. The World Bank has estimated India’s real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) within the current fiscal year 2021-22 to grow by 8.3% in its latest economic update.

• Defence Minister Conferred Gallantry, Meritorious Service Medals To Coast Gaurd Personnel. The Medals were presented in the Investiture ceremony held at National Stadium Complex held at National Complex. The ceremony happened at 10 am in New Delhi. In total, 21 awards were presented.

• ‘I – Sprint’ 21’ is launched by International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA). The Global FinTech Hackathon series ‘I- Sprint’21’ has been launched and the first set in the sprint is ‘Sprint01: BankTech’. The First sprint focuses on the Banking sector.

• World Egg Day is celebrated on 08 October to note the versatility of the egg sector in people’s everyday lives and its benefits. This year world egg day celebrates its 25th anniversary and this year theme is “Eggs for all: Nature’s perfect package”.

• World Post Day is celebrated on 09 October to awareness of the role of the postal sector in people’s and businesses’ everyday lives. The theme of 2021 World Post Day is “Innovate to recover.” The World Post Day was first celebrated in 1874 on the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union.

• World Migratory Bird Day is celebrated on 09 October to spread awareness for conserving migratory birds and their habitats. The World Migratory Bird Day was celebrated first in 2006. It was first celebrated on the Second Saturday of May and again on the Second Saturday of October.
