• According to research done recently, around 30% of the 557 raptor species around the world are threatened by extinction to some degree. It is an evaluation by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and BirdLife International (a international partnership of conservation organisations (NGOs)).

• The 12th edition of DefExpo will be held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, in March 2022. DefExpo is a flagship biennial tournament of the Ministry of Defence, showcasing the land, naval, air as properly as fatherland security systems. The goal of the DefExpo 2022 is to construct upon the vision to gain Atma Nirbharta in defence sector.

• The Manda buffalo has been regarded as the nineteenth unique breed of buffalo found in India by the NBAGR (National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources). Four breeds of cattle – Binjharpur, Motu, Ghumusari and Khariar – and two breeds of buffalo – Chilika and Kalahandi – and one breed of sheep, Kendrapara, have already obtained.

• National Teachers’ Award 2021 was awarded through President Ram Nath Kovind, September 5, 2021. President Kovind gave the awards to forty-four finest teachers in the country for their devoted contribution. The award contributes to those who enhance the niceness of schooling for students and inspire and enrich their lives. This year, the Ministry of Education launched the name of 44 teachers who would be conferred the National Teachers’ Award. Out of the complete forty-four teachers, 9 of the awardees are women.

• The Common Services Centres has received approvals to operate and manipulate Passport Seva Kendra kiosks in rural areas. The Village Entrepreneur (VLE) who runs the CSC will be commissioned to collect the documents, photos, and other details required for the passport process, as well as initial non-police verification.

• Cairn Energy, headquartered in the United Kingdom, is working with the Indian government to speed up the “documentation and refund payment” of the $1.06 billion retrospective tax. In its half-yearly report, Cairn stated it plans to return $700 million to the shareholders through unique dividends and buybacks, out of the expected tax refund.

• Special Economic Zones (SEZs) were in the news. Local sales through Special Economic Zones units except import tag. The government is considering an idea to enable producers in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to promote their output to the domestic market without treating them as imports.

• The Minister is committed to India’s first functional smog tower, located in Anand Vihar, New Delhi. Smoke tower is a structure designed as a large/medium air purifier to reduce air pollution, usually by forcing air through a filter. The height of Anand Vihar’s smoke tower is more than 20m.

• To Prepare Road Map for Coal based Hydrogen Production the Ministry of Coal Constitutes an Expert Committee and Task Force. On India’s 75th Independence Day, the Prime Minister introduced a Hydrogen Mission. Coal is one of the vital sources of hydrogen making (Brown Hydrogen).

• As part of India’s presidency of the BRICS countries in 2021, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host the 13th BRICS Summit in a virtual format. Intra-BRICS cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus’, is the theme of the summit.
