• Swachh Survekshan Gramin 2021 has been launched. Swachh Survekshan Gramin 2021 was launched in the second phase of Swachh Bharat Mission. The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) will undertake the Survekshan (survey) nationally to assist the acceleration of ODF Plus interventions.

• Himalaya Diwas/Day is observed on 9 September each year in Uttarakhand. The Day is celebrated with the goal to preserve the Himalayan ecosystem and region. In 2015, September 9 was officially declared as the Himalaya Day by the then Chief Minister.

• ‘Main Bhi Digital 3.0’ was launched – A unique Campaign for Training for street vendors and Digital Onboarding. The campaign has been launched by the Ministry of Housing Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology throughout 223 cities.

• The Minister of Education released the 2021 India ranking established by the National Institutional Ranking Framework. This is the sixth consecutive version of India Rankings of HEIs in India. In the first edition in 2016, university categories and rankings in three specific fields were announced.

• DRDO passed over the air defence missile (MRSAM) System to the Indian Air Force. MRSAM (IAF) is an advanced network-centric combat air defense system developed by DRDO and the Israel Aerospace Industry (IAI) in cooperation with Indian industry, which includes the private and public sectors.

• The Indian government has signed a ceasefire agreement with the National Socialist Council (K) Niki Group of Nagaland State, effective September 8, 2021, for a period of one year. More than 200 cadres of this team along with eighty three weapons joined the peace process. The Indian Government has already signed a Ceasefire Agreement.

• PMGDISHA initiated a campaign to achieve 100% digital literacy in the digital village. Under the campaign, a three day certification drive for rural citizens, particularly women and deprived communities, will be performed for a few days in September 2021.

• The Cabinet Committee on Security accepted the procurement of fifty six C-295MW transport aircraft from a Spanish enterprise for the Indian Air Force. After the contract is signed, within 48 months 16 aircraft will be delivered from Spain, and TATA Consortium will manufacture 40 aircraft in India within 10 years after the contract.
