• International Day to Protect Education from Attack is observed globally on ninth September. In deciding the International Day to Protect Education from Attack to be observed for the 1st time in 2020. The reason for the day is to raise consciousness concerning the significance of safeguarding colleges as locations of protection.

• IASP (International Association for Suicide Prevention) observes World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) on 10 September each year. Highlights: The purpose of this day is to increase focus round the globe that suicide can be prevented. The theme for 2021 is Creating hope through action.

• World EV Day is discovered on September 9 each year. The day marks the get together of e-mobility. Special focus campaigns are organised globally to train humans about the advantages of electric vehicles (EV). World EV Day was an initiative by the sustainability media enterprise GreenTV. The first World EV day was in 2020.

• President of India, Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, who retired as the deputy chief of Army, Uttarakhand governor, a seat which fell vacant after resignation of Baby Rani Maurya. According to a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique, the President accepted the resignation of Maurya and appointed Singh as the governor of the state.

• China launched a new Earth observation satellite (EOS), Gaofen-5 02, into space, aboard a Long March-4C rocket, from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre in north China’s Shanxi Province. Highlights: The Gaofen-5 2 satellite tv for pc is the twenty fourth in the series of Gaofen Earth-observation satellites of China.

• The Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri and US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm co-chaired a virtual ministerial meeting to launch the reformed US-India Strategic Clean Energy Partnership. SCEP was launched under the US-India Climate and Clean Energy Agenda.
