• Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Ration Aapke Gram’ initiative and the ‘Sickle Cell Mission.’ On his visit to Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a range of tribal welfare schemes. PM Modi announced the commencement of Madhya Pradesh’s ‘Ration Aapke Gram’ and ‘Sickle Cell Mission.’ He also lay the foundation stone for 50 new Eklavya Model Residential Schools to be built across India. Beginning in 2021, the Indian government will commemorate the 15th of November as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas,’ or ‘Tribal Gaurav Diwas.’

• In Gurugram, India’s first fisheries business incubator opened for business. In Gurugram, Haryana, the first-of-its-kind specialised fisheries business incubator was opened to grow fisheries start-ups in actual market-driven circumstances. LINAC- NCDC Fisheries Business Incubation Centre is the name of the incubator (LlFlC). Shri Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy, officiated at the event. The centre was built at a cost of Rs. 3.23 crore as part of the national government’s Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).

• Pochampally in Telangana has been chosen as one of the top tourism villages in the state.The United Nations World Tourism Organization named Pochampally hamlet in Telangana’s Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district as one of the top tourism villages. Pochampally is recognised for its famous hand-woven Ikat saris (UNWTO). The prize will be presented on December 2 at the UNWTO’s 24th General Assembly in Madrid. The UNWTO pilot initiative’s finest tourism villages aims to recognise villages that are great examples of rural destinations and demonstrate best practises in accordance with its evaluation criteria. It also intends to help villages increase their rural tourism potential by providing training and access to improvement possibilities.

• SAI Institutional Awards are presented by Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. In New Delhi, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Anurag Thakur honoured 246 athletes and coaches with the first-ever SAI Institutional Awards. During the occasion at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, a total of 162 athletes and 84 coaches received Outstanding Award and Best Award accolades for their success in national and international championships, with cash rewards totaling Rs 85.02 lakhs. The awards were granted in recognition of the SAI athletes’ and coaches’ outstanding achievement in national and international events since 2016, as part of several sports promotion programmes.

• On November 18th, the 4th Naturopathy Day is commemorated. Every year on November 18th, India celebrates National Naturopathy Day to promote healthy mental and physical health via a drug-free system of treatment known as Naturopathy. On November 18, 2018, the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) of the Government of India announced the day. Mahatma Gandhi became the lifelong Chairman of the All India Nature Cure Foundation Trust on this day in 1945, signing the deed with the goal of making the advantages of Nature Cure available to all classes of people. Sarbananda Sonowal is the Minister of AYUSH, while Munjapara Mahendrabhai is the Minister of State (IC) for the Ministry of AYUSH.

• Every year on the third Thursday in November, World Philosophy Day is commemorated. The date for 2021 is November 18th. World Philosophy Day 2021 kicks off a conversation on how humans interact with their social, cultural, geographical, and political environments. UNESCO established World Philosophy Day in 2002.

• On November 19, 2021, the Clean Ocean International Expert Group of the UN Decade for Ocean Science for Sustainable Development will deliver its short list of activities and goals, as well as the “Clean Ocean Manifesto.” To assist the United Nations in achieving the objective of a clean ocean, the organisation has established two goals: reducing marine litter by 50-90 percent and globe circling and high-tech monitoring system. Angelika Brandt, a Southern Ocean and Antarctica biodiversity expert, and Elva Escobar Briones, a deep sea biodiversity expert, are co-chairing the expert panel. It emphasises the challenges and possibilities that the Ocean Decade can present in the pursuit of a clean ocean.

• Pratham Foundation issued the 16th Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2021 (Rural) on November 17, 2021. ASER publishes a report on the schooling level of children aged 5 to 16 in rural India, including their ability to do basic reading and arithmetic activities. The survey took place in September and October of 2021.

• The Kerala government plans to deploy a smartphone app to improve and track inorganic trash collection among local self-governing bodies. In the first phase, the smart waste mobile app will be available in all six municipal corporations, 300 village bodies, and 70-plus municipalities. The introduction of the mobile app will improve garbage disposal efficiency. The app will be used to track and control the amount of inorganic garbage collected from homes. It will also describe how garbage must be handled.

• At Mumbai Central Station, Indian Railways has established the first Pod retiring rooms for Indian Railways passengers as well as the general public. According to a senior Western Railway (WR) employee, staying in this pod hotel costs Rs 999 for 12 hours and Rs 1,999 for 24 hours. Wi-Fi, a TV, an adjustable mirror, a small locker, and reading lighting will all be available. Raosaheb Danve, Union Minister of State for Railways, virtually launched the pod hotel.

• The 21st Annual Council of Ministers (COM) Meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) was held in Dhaka on November 17, 2021. India participated at the conference virtually. Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs (MoS), headed India. In Dhaka, the IORA COM was held in a hybrid format. The Dhaka Communique was adopted at the conclusion of the summit.
