The newly widened and six-lane NH-19 has a total length of 73 kilometres and a total investment of Rs 24.47 billion, which is expected to reduce the travel time between Prayagraj and Varanasi by one hour.

• The Indian Vice President and Chairman of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) launched the first SCO online shared Buddhist heritage exhibition in 2020. The online international exhibition was launched during the 19th meeting of the SCO Heads of Government Council on November 30, 2020. The SCO online international exhibition is developed and curated by the National Museum of New Delhi.

• China and Nepal discussed various issues related to their bilateral interests, including strengthening military cooperation between the two countries, issues related to the resumption of training and student exchange programs, and follow-up actions for defence assistance affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Highlights: Nepal established relations with China in 1955.

• Every December 1st is World AIDS Day. People have been celebrating this day since 1988. Celebrating this day is to raise people’s awareness of preventing HIV infection. The November last week of is celebrated as AIDS Awareness Week annually. The first AIDS Awareness Week was held in San Francisco in 1984. This year, World AIDS Day is celebrated with the following theme “Global Solidarity and Shared Responsibility”.

• Guru Nanak Jayanti is a festival of the Sikh community. It is held to commemorate the birth of Guru Nanak Dev. He is believed to be born in Poornima (full moon) in Kartika (the 8th month of the Indian calendar), November 30, 2020. Guru Nanak Dev: Guru Nanak Dev was born in Talwandi Rai Bhoe village near Lahore in 1459 and later changed his name to Nankana Sahib.

• The Minister of Railways unveiled the newly electrified Dhigawara-Bandikui section of the Northwest Railway Line and marked the first train from this electrified route from Dhigawara Station in Alwar District, Rajasthan. Indian Railways has set a goal to complete the electrification of its wide-gauge network by December 2023. More than 66% of the wide-gauge lines have been electrified.

• The Indian Navy (IN) has introduced two U.S. MQ9B Marine Guardian unmanned drones. These drones will be leased for one year in India. The Drone is a maritime variant of the Predator MQ9 UAV (UAV). It has a endurance of upto 40 hours and also a maximum flying altitude of 40,000 feet. The drone has 3600 maritime surveillance radar and optional multi-mode maritime surface search radar.

• There has been insufficient rainfall in the southern peninsula of India, indicating that the northeast monsoon is still flat this year. La Niña increases the rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon, but it has a negative impact on the northeast monsoon. Inter-Tropical Convective Zone (ITCZ): The current location of the ITCZ has also contributed to insufficient rainfall during the monsoon season.

• The parts of northern Tripura have witnessed strong protests against the resettlement of the Bru tribe. The state has planned to resettle 300 families in Tripura at 12 resettlement sites in 6 districts.
