• The Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) launched the world’s first Nano Urea Liquid for farmers worldwide. It is a nutrient (liquid) used to provide nitrogen to plants as an alternative to urea. It was created to replace conventional urea, and it can reduce the need for it by at least 50%.

• In Maharashtra, the Maratha community is included in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota. Previously, the Supreme Court overturned the SEBC reservation in jobs and education. It enabled the State government to extend the EWS quota benefit to Marathas.

• AmbiTAG, India’s first indigenous temperature data logger for cold chain management was developed by IIT Ropar, Punjab. AmbiTag is a first-of-its-kind Internet of Things (IoT) device that records real-time ambient temperature while transporting perishable goods, vaccines, and even body organs and blood.

• The Horticulture Cluster Development Programme (CDP) was launched by the Ministry of Agriculture. The objective of the programme is to ensure the holistic growth of horticulture. During the pilot phase, the programme will be implemented in 12 horticulture clusters across 11 states/UTs. It is a central sector programme.

• According to a report released by the Central Statistical Office, India’s GDP will contract by 7.3 percent in 2020-21. The economy’s Gross Value Added (GVA) fell 6.2 percent in 2020-21, compared to a 4.1 percent increase the previous year.
