• From the start of the financial year, the Centre has directed states to divide wage payments under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme into separate categories for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and others. The government will also provide separate budget heads for the SC and ST categories.
