• According to the Bal Swaraj Portal, nearly 10,000 children in India are in immediate need of care and protection, including children aged zero to seventeen who have been orphaned or abandoned as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic since March 2020. It is created by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights.

• The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has discovered three more caves in Trirashmi hill in Nashik, Maharashtra. The Trirashmi Buddhist caves, also known as Pandav Leni, are also located in the same location.

• The President of India appointed Justice Arun Kumar Mishra as the chairman of the National Human Rights Commission. The NHRC was founded in 1993. It is a statutory organisation created by the 1993 Protection of Human Rights Act (PHRA). Headquarters are in New Delhi.

• The government established an Expert Group on the Fixation of Minimum Wages and National Floor Wages. The Ministry of Labour and Employment issued an order and formed the Expert Group to provide technical inputs and recommendations on Minimum Wage and National Floor Minimum Wage fixation.

• The Telecom Department has released the Operational Guidelines for the PLI Scheme for telecom and networking equipment. The Department of Telecommunications notified the PLI scheme for telecom in February 2021, and the operational guidelines have now been announced.

• The Bamboo Market Page on the Govt e-Marketplace (GeM) portal has been launched. The Union Agriculture Minister launched a dedicated window on the GeM portal for the marketing of bamboo goods. The National Bamboo Mission and the GeM collaborated on the dedicated bamboo page.

• Indian Institute of Technology Madras’ Centre for Memory Studies currently hosted truly Asia’s first International Memory Studies Workshop. Indian Network for Memory Studies (INMS), the first national community in Asia below the aegis of the International Memory Studies Association, Amsterdam.

• The Union Cabinet has approved a MoC (memorandum of cooperation) between India-Japan on the subject of sustainable city development. A Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on Sustainable Urban Development has been signed between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure development.

• International Day for the Fight in opposition to Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing is prepared each and every 12 months on fifth June. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing things are responsible for the loss of nearly 11 to 26 million tonnes of fish.
