• Indian Airforce Foundation day is also known as National Indian Airforce Day is commemorated on 8 October. Air Force Day parade happened at the Hindon airbase, Ghaziabad. Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh were present.

• India is now officially part of the High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People on 7 October. India joined the coalition in the ceremony that happened in New Delhi between the Indian and French Governments. High Ambition Coalition for nature and people started in January at Paris one planet summit.

• Abdulrazak Gurnah, the Tanzanian novelist, won the 2021 Nobel Prize for Literature. Abdulrazak Gurnah, the Tanzanian novelist, won the Nobel Prizes uncompromising and compassionate penetration of “effects of colonialism”. He also focused on the fate of refugees in the gulf between cultures and continents.

• The World Health Organization endorsed the first anti-malarial vaccine on 6 October. The WHO said on Wednesday that it recommended the widespread use of the RTS, S/AS01 (RTS, S) malaria vaccine amidst children in sub-Saharan Africa. It is also recommended to other regions with mild to high P. falciparum malaria transmission.

• PM Narendra Modi, on 7 October inaugurated 35 pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants established under the PM CARES fund. This was inaugurated across 35 States and Union Territories in an Occasion at AIIMS Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

• The Territorial Army celebrated its 72nd Territorial Day on 9 October. On the sad occasion, Director General Territorial Army Lt Gen Preet Mohindera Singh paid tribute to the fallen brave heroes by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial. Several commemorative events were held across the country to mark the occasion.

• Guru Ghasidas park and Tamor Pingla Wildlife Sanctuary are approved as tiger reserves now by National Tiger Conservation Authority. National Tiger Conservation Authority has approved the Chhattisgarh government’s proposal to declare few parts as Tiger Reserve.

• On Behalf of World Teachers’ Day, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) launched its 2021 State of the Education Report. This publication is the annual report of UNESCO New Delhi, and it’s supported extensive research. This third edition of the State of Education Report.
